WVS002 
THE SUPERVISOR’S ROLE
Video

This program clearly demonstrates the human and economic costs of employee drug abuse and stresses the need for supervisors to confront the problem in a positive way.  The immediate and long term effects of commonly abused drugs are explained.  The program concludes by discussing the benefits of a comprehensive drug policy that includes testing procedures, employee education, and provisions for employee rehabilitation.  20 minutes.

WHAT EMPLOYEES CAN DO
Video

This program explains to employees that drug abuse is a very serious problem that affects everyone in the workplace, not just the abuser.  It discusses the dangers of alcohol and other commonly abused drugs, and explains that ignoring a coworker’s drug abuse problem may be well intentioned—but may actually make the problem worse.  Employees are shown how and why to take a firm stand against drug abuse, and urged to help coworkers along the road to rehabilitation and recovery.  15 minutes.

One in four people is affected by alcoholism in the workplace.  Recognize the signs of alcoholism and be a positive part of the solution:  physical and psychological effects of alcohol, typical behavioral signs and workplace patterns, and possible steps a fellow employee or supervisor can take.

DRUG TESTING IN THE  WORKPLACE
Video

A company’s mandatory policy for drug screening is activated following an on-the-job accident.  The video follows the employee who caused the accident through the initial interview and testing procedures.  Urine and blood testing in the lab are thoroughly demonstrated.  Issues of confidentiality, tampering, prevention and rehabilitation are discussed.  The program emphasizes the right of all employees to a safe and secure workplace.  Drug testing is shown not as a law enforcement tool but as a diagnostic tool to help those who need help and to prevent accidents on the job.  24 minutes.

Each individual in an organization shares the responsibility for creating an atmosphere of mutual respect with co-workers.  This program is designed to help employees recognize subtle sexual harassment and to see how it hurts working relationships, fosters resentment and bad feelings, damages teamwork and morale, and impairs group and individual efforts toward success.

After viewing the program, employees will understand why some well-intentioned advances are seen as threatening,  how to monitor their behavior to avoid harassing co-workers, what someone should do if they feel they’re being harassed, and why sexual harassment affects not only the victim but the entire work environment.  Also available in Spanish.  19 minutes.

Workplace violence has become an increasingly common fact of life in the American workplace.  Homicide is now the #1 cause of death for women in the workplace and ranks second only to vehicle accidents for men.  This video is designed to increase awareness and knowledge of how to pre-vent workplace violence, whether or not your organization has a formal violence prevention program.

This video training program will show managers and supervisors how to recognize and deal with threats and threatening behaviors, utilize internal and external resources to effectively resolve conflicts, use training to lower risks and improve employee relationships, hire and fire employees in ways that help lower the risk of violence, respond to emergency situations safely and effectively.  Includes instructor’s resource guide and 20 participants manuals.   20 minutes.

This program instills awareness in management and focuses on sexual harassment as a top priority issue.  It details many of the more subtle aspects of hostile work environment sexual harassment, as well as quid pro quo harassment.  Managers and supervisors will learn about common policies and the severe ramifications sexual harassment can have on the workplace as a whole.  How to recognize and alleviate such incidents is also shown.  A comprehensive trainer’s manual accompanies the program.  Also available in Spanish.  21 minutes.

This video will show all employees that preventing or eliminating sexual harassment in the workplace will benefit them and their organization.  It shows the negative impact of a hostile work environment on the team, how to deal with quid pro quo harassment, how third party harassment affects overall productivity, and how to confront a harasser and tell him/her to stop the unwelcome behavior.  It also addresses the effects  of workplace limitations, proper procedures for reporting and investigating complaints and the consequences of false accusations.  Also available in Spanish.  25 minutes.

WORKPLACE VIOLENCE:  THE CALM BEFORE  THE STORM
Video
In one year alone, workplace homicides accounted for one out of five of all work-related deaths.  This new program will help supervisors and employees identify the warning signs of workplace violence and prevent it.  It includes an interview with a victim of workplace violence, causes of workplace violence, violence prevention program, conflict resolution, threat management teams.  Includes 10 employee handbooks.  Also available in Spanish.  25 minutes.

This program makes organizations aware of the potential for violence, and to increase the ability to recognize early warning signs of a potentially violent person or situation.  It also shows how to record a potential problem and how to encourage employees to report suspicious incidents.

Managers and supervisors will learn to help viewers see the consistency of the perpetrator profile.  They are shown how to properly record incidents indicative of a potential problem; provide a clearer understanding of behavioral warning signs; encourage employees to report suspicious incidents to their immediate supervisors or through proper channels; realize that not all incidents of workplace violence include the use of guns; be alert to other violent acts, stalking, property damage, unwelcome touching and acts of intimidation; set up security programs; improve external lighting, silent alarms, surveillance cameras and bullet proof barriers; and provide professional security.  30 minutes.

This program presents a straightforward look at the growth of workplace violence.  Supervisors and managers learn how to recognize the warning signs of dysfunctional behavior that can lead to violent episodes.  Intervention techniques are discussed, as well as actual tactics for defining potentially violent situations.  Supervisors will learn to be more aware of the issues related to workplace violence; use tools to help recognize, defuse and prevent violence; recognize common causes of violent and aggressive behavior; properly document erratic employee behavior; spot warning signs that can mean employees or others pose a risk to safety.  Includes trainer’s manual.  Also available in Spanish.  26 minutes.
