THE SUPERVISORS ROLE
Video
This program clearly demonstrates the human and economic costs of employee drug abuse
and stresses the need for supervisors to confront the problem in a positive way. The
immediate and long term effects of commonly abused drugs are explained. The program
concludes by discussing the benefits of a comprehensive drug policy that includes testing
procedures, employee education, and provisions for employee rehabilitation. 20

WHAT EMPLOYEES CAN DO
Video
This program explains to employees that drug abuse is a very serious problem that
affects everyone in the workplace, not just the abuser. It discusses the dangers of
alcohol and other commonly abused drugs, and explains that ignoring a coworkers drug
abuse problem may be well intentionedbut may actually make the problem worse.
Employees are shown how and why to take a firm stand against drug abuse, and urged to help
coworkers along the road to rehabilitation and recovery. 15 minutes.

the ability to recognize early warning signs of a potentially violent person or
situation. It also shows how to record a potential problem and how to encourage
