MARKET AND BREEDING SHEEP EVALUATION

Live animal evaluation of sheep is the focus of this video.  It utilizes 15 sheep for individual estimates, pricing, and performance classes.  It explains the procedures for estimating carcass traits, market value determination, and ranking based on performance.  Carcasses and carcass data follow each class.  Emphasis is placed on the breeding scenario and visual characteristics.  A class of four Suffolk rams and ten questions are the provided for viewer evaluation.  Also discussed are factors involved in the keep/cull procedures, and how to apply the breeding scenario in concert with visual appraisal.  60 minutes.
